What is Hack X LBEF?

Hack X LBEF is a national-level hackathon organized by LBEF College. The event challenges participants to create innovative solutions aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants work on real-world problems and develop projects to foster sustainability and innovation.

Who can participate in Hack X LBEF?

All students of LBEF College are allowed to participate in Hack X LBEF. Teams must consist of 3-5 members and bring a mentor to guide them during the hackathon.

What are the themes of the hackathon?

The hackathon focuses on the 17 SDGs outlined by the United Nations. Each team selects one SDG and builds their project around it, starting with a detailed case study.

What is the structure of the hackathon?

The hackathon consists of three phases:

  • Phase 1: Concept Note Submission (Online) - Teams submit their problem statement, proposed solutions, approach, and a summary presentation.
  • Phase 2: On-Site Hackathon (36 Hours) - Shortlisted teams participate in a 48-hour on-site hackathon to develop their projects.
  • Phase 3: Demonstration and Presentation - In this phase, participants will present their final product to the judges, showcasing its features and functionality.
Where will the hackathon take place?

The on-site phase of the hackathon will be conducted at a designated venue, which may be changed but is likely to be in either D or E block of LBEF.

How many teams will be shortlisted for the on-site hackathon?

Eight teams will be selected from Phase 1 submissions to join two in-house teams from LBEF, making a total of ten teams for the on-site phase.

What facilities will be provided during the hackathon?

The organizing committee will provide the following:

  • Workspace and technical infrastructure
  • Food and accommodation
  • Guidance from mentors assigned by the organizers
What is the role of mentors?

Each team must bring their own mentor to guide them throughout the hackathon. Additionally, the organizing committee will assign mentors to oversee the event and ensure smooth progression.

How do we submit our concept note for Phase 1?

Teams will submit their concept notes, including the problem statement, proposed solutions, approach, and a summary presentation, through the platform provided by the organizers. Details will be shared upon registration.

What is the duration of the on-site hackathon?

The on-site hackathon will last 36 hours, during which teams will work intensively to develop and finalize their projects.
